About Vancouver Indoor Ultimate

The 2010 Season marks our 4th year of play. In 2007, Jeremy and Jeremy decided to avoid the usual cold and rainy Vancouver winters by playing ultimate frisbee inside a gym. Thus, Vancouver's first ever Indoor Ultimate league was born.

The league is set up in a hat format (with exceptions for optional partner pairing, see the Registration page for details), where teams will be randomly generated. In the interest of fairness, we reserve the right to modify rosters slightly in order to balance out skill levels amongst the teams.

We have our own special set of league rules due to the limited space and fast-paced nature of our game. The league is played with 5 players aside, substitutions are on the fly, and stall counts to 7.

Please wear shoes with non-marking soles. If at all possible, bring a pair of dedicated indoor shoes. If this is not possible, please clean them thoroughly before entering the gym.

Each team will be composed of 12 players of varying skill levels. Two people, one man and one woman, will be chosen by each team during the first week to fulfill the role of captain. Those chosen to be captains need to e-mail us after the first week. They will be crucial in our communication to the teams.

The league will last for 10 weeks of regular season, followed by three weeks of playoffs. We play Sundays at 3:00, 4:00, or 5:00pm, depending on which team you are placed on. Each game lasts 1 hour. Check the Schedule page to find out who you play when.
