Vancouver Indoor Ultimate

Hi everyone!

Before we get started on some housekeeping issues, a belated Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you all!  This holiday season has been particularly busy for us two Jeremys so please forgive us for not getting in touch with you sooner.  :)

Partners

As some of you may have noticed, this year’s registration was a bit different than last year’s.  Unfortunately, there were a few bugs in adding VIU to the VUL registration system and it did not capture any partner info.  :(  Many apologies.  IMPORTANT: We need at least one person from each pair that signed up to email us to let us know who you’ve partnered up with. If you’re playing as a single, you do not have to email us.  If we do not receive an email from you by or or your partner by January 4th, 2012, we’ll be assuming that you’re playing as a single.

Teams

Unfortunately, without the information requested above, we cannot begin to make teams so PLEASE EMAIL US YOUR PARTNER’S INFO as soon as possible.  The faster we get the information, the faster we can get the teams made.  The faster we get the teams made, the faster you’ll know when you’re playing on our first day of games on January 8th, 2012!

Jerseys

Dan Bergson from One Apparel will be on hand during the first day of games with a full set of jersey sizes for everyone to try on.  Men’s AND women’s sizing will be available.  We will collect everyone’s sizing choices then.  If you’re planning on missing the first day of games, we’ll be basing our order on the jersey size you chose during the registration process unless you tell us otherwise.

We’re back baby, and better than ever! The 2012 Vancouver Indoor Ultimate season is just around the corner and registration for our valued past players starts now!

But before you start throwing your dollar bills at us, a few things:

1) We’ve partnered with the VUL this year for their good looks and deep pockets. No huge changes except that this will be the first year that we won’t have to run this show with our credit cards. We’re still at the Jewish Community Centre on Sundays from 2pm to 6pm. First day of games will be on January 8th, 2012 and will run every Sunday till March 25th, 2012.

2) Registration for the 2012 Indoor season will now be done through the VUL website at https://www.vul.bc.ca/v3/regwiz/. You need to be a registered player with the VUL and payments will be via credit card through the VUL’s secure payment page. If you aren’t already registered with the VUL (though we’re sure most of you are), sign up now as it’s free!

3) Registration fees are now $60 per person. Before you go all #occupyindoorultimate on us, the extra $10 goes towards fancy dri-fit team jerseys provided by One Apparel for everyone! You’ll be asked for a jersey size during the registration process.

4) We’re still giving you the option of signing up with a friend, because we like you. If there’s someone you’d like to play with, just write that into the “notes to coordinators”, and make sure they do, too.

That’s pretty much it. Sign up now!

See you all this January!

Remember back in September when we said more details would follow in late Fall? We didn’t really mean this late into fall, but here we are nonetheless. We’re sorry, and fully accept that we won’t be getting that Lexus with the big red bow on it from you for Christmas. We’re really more into the Tesla, anyway. Have you seen those things? Smexy.

So winter is nearly upon us, and with that comes colder rain, bitter wind, and Indoor Ultimate. We’re going to be back at the Jewish Community Centre again in the same timeslot, Sundays from 2:15 to 6:15. We’re partnering up with the VUL this year, in a sort of David-sits-on-Goliath’s-shoulders-and-Goliath-is-actually-quite-a-nice-person-really thing. Rest assured, VIU is still a mom-and-pop operation (I call pop), so please don’t be offended if we take a liking to you and offer you a Werther’s or something.

Registration is going to start very soon, probably in the next couple of days, so keep your eyes peeled here for the upcoming registration date.
